When a user of Google search types in a query for lookup, Google has integrated local results into the regular listings. Best of all, these local results are placed prior to the regular listings returned results. How does that benefit your site? If you happen to rank high in local search results, your listing will also appear on top of regular listings returned for relevant queries. This is true even if the user does not specify a location. In such situations, Google has stated that it guesses as to the users location.
2). Fewer Companies are aware of Google Local Search Listings, this means less competition and easier and higher listing SERPs. If your website is listed in the local results, it will be listed above the regular results on that page and people will also see the exact location of your business.
