Time for a New Computing System? 5 Clues

Every wonder what is going on with your computer system? For instance, no matter how unused or overused, there are certain telltale signs that indicate poor health. So, how do you know when to begin shopping for a new one? Obviously, while it is still live and working there is no urgency to run out and buy a new system-no matter how much you really want one. Here are five indicators of sooner, rather than later, in respect to entertaining the shopping idea.

1. You hear suspicious noise coming from the hard drive area. This noise may be associated with some type of winding sound. You wonder if you should be concerned.

2. After weeks of hearing the winding noise, all of a sudden your computer goes “POP!”

3. A fragrance of burning data fills the room immediately following the pop sound.

4. You no longer hear the winding noise, in fact, you hear nothing. You wonder if you are watching the computer or if it is watching you.

5. You attempt to revive your system only to realize it will not respond.

Congratulations, you now know what that winding sound meant and are on your way to shopping for a new system as a result.
